Artist to Watch: Ox flacko out of Philadelphia

Being born in New York City, but raised in Philadelphia, Ox Flacko is the next up-and-coming artist out of Philly. Ox flacko is apart of Ox gang, a group that consists of himself, MattOx, Oxdesh, GGOx, & zeusox. All having Philadelphia roots but each have their own unique sound & flow. Over the next few months left in 2019, moving into 2020, Ox Flacko has a lot to come. With new music to look forward to & visuals, he will be Controlled Sounds’ artist to watch over the next year.

Ox Flacko has explained that his inspiration of making music is OxGang & EOMV which stands for “Eyes over Money Visionary”. He stated “that being in the studio everyday that we are our own inspiration.” This is a special point to hear that he draws inspiration from himself and the others around him is a very genuine aspect to hear in the rap game from an artist.

As he started making music at the age of 17 years old, with only 2 years of experience Ox Flacko has shown massive potential. He released his first song on SoundCloud called “4 Cups” which has approximately 30 thousand streams on SoundCloud. “4 Cups” was also his first visual, in which he released on Youtube after the audio was released, in which it has accumulated approximately 3 thousand views. The song that truly gained the most attention from him was “Swavy Boujie” (feat.) We$fargo, which has accumulated over 110 thousand streams on SoundCloud.

Ox Flacko has accumulated over 3 million streams across all songs on his SoundCloud, which is tremendous for an artist at that stage of their career.

Over the summer, Ox Flacko released Conceited on Soundcloud followed by visuals on Youtube. The video consisted of jump cuts of OxGang within Philadelphia.

With his latest release, Flacko dropped “Bussin” in August of 2019 and has accumulated 6 thousand streams on Soundcloud. The 19 year old rapper is just beginning as he prepares to drop his next tape in the fall of 2019. As he will have a few features on the project, he wanted to keep it a surprise for his fans. It will be exciting to watch Ox Flacko over the next year as he grows as an artist.
