Kanye Speaks on Importance of Owning Masters, Drake & NBA to Modern Day Slavery During Twitter Rant

Kanye West is at it again with another twitter rant. The 43 year old rapper took to twitter to rant about Sony, Universal, J.Cole, along with his former friend Drake. His first set of tweets were stating that he wanted to be released from his contract with Sony & Universal before releasing any new music. He went on to say that he needs to “see everyone’s contracts from Sony & Universal because all of his people are being enslaved.” And that “The music industry and the NBA are modern day slave ships.” Kanye also made the claim that he is the new Moses.

He then went on to stated that he needed a public apology from Drake & J.Cole, in which the tweet was quickly deleted soon after. He also stated that he had  “the utmost respect for all brothers” and said “we need to link and respect each other... no more dissing each other on labels we don’t own”. It will be very interesting how this unfolds in the weeks to come. We wonder if he truly cares about this topic and the people involved or is he doing this for more publicity because there is new music on the way, however, only time will tell.

Kanye then ended the night on the note stating:

“In the streaming world master ownership is everything... that is the bulk of the income ... in COVID artist need our masters ... it’s more important than ever before I got J Cole number waiting for Kendrick and Drake“

People may not agree with the ways he is communicating his message, but this is a big discrepancy in the music industry right now. Artists are losing half of their income alone by not being able to tour, do meet & greets, and other means of revenue. By not owning their masters, it also means they’re not getting all or most of their streaming money.

Let us know what your thoughts are on this whole situation and what you think about Kanye’s latest Twitter rant.
